Why Evil Matters by Alex Tsakiris

Why Evil Matters is only about evil in that its existence points the way to the power of the non-physical realms—both light and dark. Alex Tsakiris explains the “we can’t claim evil exists if consciousness doesn’t” and that his book is about why evil matters, not about evil. This understanding contrasts with the dominant materialist scientific paradigm that limits us to our flesh like “biological robots.” The author does give examples of the existence of evil as in child abuse, Satanic cults, the influence of Alister Crowley on pop culture, negative extraterrestrials, social engineering, etc. However, he cites many interviews with highly educated experts featured on his podcast “Skeptico” to indicate we’re more than our flesh with access to “an extended consciousness realm.” He concludes that our awareness extends beyond the body and beyond death. He gives examples of the government’s Star Gate remote viewing, near-death experiences, communicating with spirits, research on children’s memories of past lives, parapsychology studies. This book is a never-boring overview of reality beyond the physical and an introduction to many of the vanguard thinkers he interviewed. Tsakiris concludes that we can learn from evil “that we are not it. The best evidence suggests there is a divine spark burning in each of us.”
